JUICING ADDS HEALTH BENEFITS🍓🍐🍋
Stacey got a juicing machine for Christmas this year that replaced one that we wore out a couple of years ago. We loved juicing back then, but never replaced the machine for some unknown reason. One of our favorite recipes was a simple one; Carrots and Apples. Now, we have tried many variations including all together new recipes. We will share a couple of our new favorites below.
In all of these recipes, we add It Works Greens for an extra nutritional boost of 8+ servings of 55+ fruits and veggies.
Benefits of Juicing
There are three main reasons why you will want to consider incorporating vegetable juicing into your optimal health program:
- Juicing helps you absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables. This is important because most of us have impaired digestion as a result of making less-than-optimal food choices over many years. This limits your body’s ability to absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables. Juicing will help to “pre-digest” them for you, so you will receive most of the nutrition, rather than having it go down the toilet.
- Juicing allows you to consume an optimal amount of vegetables in an efficient manner. If you are a carb type, you should eat one pound of raw vegetables per 50 pounds of body weight per day. Some people may find eating that many vegetables difficult, but it can be easily accomplished with a quick glass of vegetable juice.
- You can add a wider variety of vegetables in your diet. Many people eat the same vegetable salads every day. This violates the principle of regular food rotation and increases your chance of developing an allergy to a certain food. But with juicing, you can juice a wide variety of vegetables that you may not normally enjoy eating whole. (via Mercola.com)
DID YOU KNOW?
Juicing as a way to detox or cleanse the body hasn’t been scientifically proven. Researchers note that the body’s liver and kidneys detox the body whether a person is juicing or not.
Here are a couple of recipes that we have personally tried that was submitted by Laura Cornick via a Facebook post that we sought recipes.
2 Fuji Apples
2 stalks of Kale
Handful of Spinach
Half a Lemon
|Sweet Potato-Pear-Cinnamon Juice
1 Sweet Potato
Handful of Blueberries
Dash of Cinnamon
Awesome post! Wasn’t aware of the possible impaired digestion from a previously unhealthy diet that wouldn’t allow you to absorb all the nutrients from veggies. Thanks!!!
